Post 9 - Dear AP Psych Student...

Dear AP Psych students,
The single and most important any former psychology student could give you is to do your vocab! It is quite tedious and it will take quite a bit of time but it is absolutely worth it. The two times I decided not to do I could see how it negatively affected my overall grade. It's good having a safety net just in case you do badly on the unit test.
The project that I enjoyed most in the emotion project. I enjoyed looking through songs that I have heard previously to identify the emotions present in them. I was able to study multiple emotions and many aspects of those emotions by associating it with music.
The activity I enjoyed the least was the content digs. At the start of the year everyone would put time and effort into them and it was an effective way to understand the material. The more often we got them the less effort was put into them, everyone just wanted to finish them as quick as possible and we didn’t learn much from them. I don’t want them to be completely gotten rid of but just given less frequently.
Towards the end of the course it would be nice if there could be a career day. Where Ms Halfen could teach us about careers you can have with a psychology degree. It would be helpful for students who enjoyed this class isn't sure what they want to do in the future. It could help them consider jobs that wouldn't have thought they could get with a degree in psychology.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this class. I wish that it could be a yearlong course and you lucky to have Ms Halfen as a teacher.
Yours sincerely,
Anvy.
